Objective of the Role:
Employees in this position will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of SayPro Monthly Material. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the alignment of material choices with SayPro’s broader branding and quality goals. They will collaborate closely with the marketing team to enhance the perceived quality and image of SayPro products, focusing on durability, functionality, and consumer perception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Selection & Strategy:
- Evaluate & Choose Durable Materials: Identify and select materials that are robust and durable, ensuring the protection of products while enhancing the overall user experience. The focus will be on sustainability and longevity, making sure materials contribute to the lasting quality of SayPro products.
- Brand Perception Enhancement: Collaborate with the marketing and branding teams to ensure the materials selected align with SayPro’s brand perception. The chosen materials must elevate the image of the products and be seen as high-quality by consumers.
- Material Analysis & Testing: Conduct regular tests and reviews to confirm that selected materials meet both functional and aesthetic standards. These tests will assess durability, flexibility, resistance to wear and tear, and suitability for various product categories.
- Collaboration with the Marketing Team:
- Brand Strategy Alignment: Work closely with the SayPro marketing team to ensure that the materials chosen fit the larger brand strategy. This includes enhancing consumer trust and highlighting the superior quality of SayPro products.
- Consumer Insights & Feedback: Regularly engage with the consumer feedback loop to understand perceptions of product quality and how materials influence those perceptions. Adjust material strategies accordingly.
- Monthly Reports & Updates: Assist in preparing monthly reports on the status of material selection, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights into how selected materials are being received by consumers.
- Sustainability and Cost-Effectiveness:
- Eco-Friendly Practices: Ensure that the materials selected are environmentally responsible, considering sustainability as a key factor in the decision-making process. Align with SayPro’s commitment to reducing environmental impact without compromising on quality.
- Budget Management: Assist in ensuring that material choices are within the established budget while maintaining the required quality standards. Balance cost-efficiency with the enhancement of brand image through high-quality materials.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping:
- Material Specifications Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all materials chosen, including sourcing, durability tests, and cost analysis. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and available for future reference or audits.
- Compliance & Quality Standards: Ensure that all materials selected comply with the company’s internal quality standards, as well as external regulatory and certification requirements (e.g., environmental or safety regulations).
- Innovation & Trends:
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and innovations in material science that could impact SayPro’s product offerings. Propose innovative materials that could contribute to the brand’s competitive edge.
- Collaborate on Product Development: Work alongside the product development team to recommend materials that align with the new product designs, ensuring material choices enhance both product function and brand image.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Industrial Design, Product Development, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in material selection, product packaging, or related roles, preferably within a branding or marketing context. Experience in consumer goods or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to evaluate materials based on a range of criteria (durability, cost, sustainability, etc.) and make data-driven decisions.
- Creativity & Innovation: Ability to think creatively and innovate, understanding how materials impact brand perception and consumer emotions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, particularly marketing, design, and product development.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in assessing material quality, monitoring performance, and ensuring consistency with branding and product standards.

Working Conditions:
