Key Responsibilities:
Course Development and Review:
- Lead the review and development of new course materials, ensuring compliance with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) accreditation standards.
- Oversee the creation and preparation of detailed course syllabi, assessment plans, and supporting documentation necessary for accreditation submission.
- Work closely with academic teams to refine course content and structure to align with industry needs, regulatory requirements, and educational best practices.
Accreditation Process Management:
- Supervise the accreditation process for new courses, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner for approval by QCTO.
- Ensure that all new courses meet QCTO’s guidelines and educational standards for accreditation.
- Maintain clear communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders throughout the course approval process.
Strategic Oversight:
- Monitor and evaluate trends in the education sector, specifically focusing on new qualifications, accreditation requirements, and regulatory changes that could impact course development.
- Provide expert advice to leadership regarding changes to the curriculum and accreditation processes, ensuring the institution remains competitive and compliant.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and faculty members, to align course offerings with institutional goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the institution and QCTO, managing communication around the course accreditation process.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure all relevant documentation, including the QCTO New Course Upload Report, is meticulously prepared and submitted to the appropriate authorities.
- Oversee the preparation of reports on the progress of accreditation submissions, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of researchers and administrators involved in the course development and accreditation processes.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment that encourages professional development and growth within the research and accreditation team.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Education, Research, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing educational accreditation processes, particularly with QCTO or similar accreditation bodies.
- Strong background in curriculum development, review, and academic program assessment.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of national educational policies, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
