Job Description & Tasks – Poster Concept Design (January SCMR-13)

Position: Graphic Designer for SayPro Monthly Posters Design

Department: SayPro Marketing / Branding

Report to: SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR, Brand Material Office


Job Overview:

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating visually appealing posters for SayPro’s monthly updates and communications. The primary objective is to align the posters with SayPro’s brand identity while ensuring the design clearly conveys the message of the specific campaign or theme for the month (as per SCMR-13).


Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Poster Concept Design:

  • Develop Poster Themes: Work collaboratively with the marketing team to understand the monthly theme and key messages to be conveyed through the poster design.
  • Conceptualize Layouts: Plan the overall structure, composition, and visual flow of the poster, ensuring it communicates the intended message effectively and aligns with SayPro’s values.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Use creative ideas and design trends to keep the posters fresh, engaging, and in line with the target audience’s preferences.

2. Graphics and Imagery Selection:

  • Brand-Aligned Visuals: Choose high-quality graphics, images, and illustrations that resonate with SayPro’s brand identity. Ensure that every visual element, from typography to colors, adheres to the brand guidelines.
  • Message Representation: Select visuals that reinforce and clarify the key message of the campaign. This includes considering the emotional tone of the imagery, making sure it resonates with the audience’s needs.
  • Sourcing of Images: Use approved image banks, original photos, or illustrations created in-house or sourced externally, ensuring proper licensing and copyright considerations are followed.

3. Design Alignment with Brand Identity:

  • Consistent Branding: Ensure that each poster design maintains consistency in style, tone, and messaging in line with SayPro’s overall brand guidelines. This includes font choices, color schemes, logo placement, and graphic elements.
  • Brand Material Standards: Refer to SayPro Brand Material Office guidelines to make sure all designs are in alignment with the approved style guide, colors, typography, and visual tone.
  • Brand Recognition: Focus on design elements that promote brand recognition, fostering an association between the design and the SayPro brand.

4. Collaboration and Feedback:

  • Team Interaction: Regularly communicate with the marketing team, particularly the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR, to understand campaign objectives, preferences, and suggestions.
  • Client/Stakeholder Feedback: After the initial design concept is completed, incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve the design as needed. This includes making revisions to visuals, text, and layout to align with feedback.
  • Final Approval Process: Work closely with the Brand Material Office to obtain final approval for designs, ensuring that all elements meet company standards and expectations.

5. Timely Execution:

  • Project Deadlines: Deliver the finalized poster designs on time for each monthly campaign. Ensure that revisions are made promptly if necessary.
  • Efficiency in Production: Manage time effectively to meet deadlines for monthly SCMR updates, ensuring the quality and accuracy of designs are maintained without delay.

6. Coordination with Marketing Materials:

  • Integration with Other Materials: Work with the marketing team to ensure posters fit seamlessly into larger marketing strategies and campaigns. This may involve coordinating design elements across other mediums, such as digital advertising, print, and social media platforms.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio of poster and branding projects.
  • Proficient in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to apply them consistently across different designs.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

This role requires a designer who is not only technically proficient but also creative, adaptable, and able to bring SayPro’s monthly messages to life through dynamic, visually compelling posters that enhance brand identity and engage the target audience effectively.
