Position Title:
Grants and Funding Opportunity Manager (for SayPro platform)

Location:
Remote/On-site (Depending on Candidate Location)

Reports to:
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)


Position Overview:

SayPro is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grants and Funding Opportunity Manager to manage and oversee the curation, updating, and distribution of the SayPro Monthly January Fundsforngos Opportunities Listing. This position is critical to ensuring that African NGOs can efficiently access the most relevant and timely funding opportunities for their projects and missions.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in grant management, a solid understanding of the NGO sector, and a passion for ensuring that non-profit organizations receive the resources they need to scale and succeed. You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining accurate records of funding opportunities, ensuring the listing is up-to-date, user-friendly, and tailored to the needs of NGOs across Africa.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curate and Update the Monthly Listings:
    • Research and identify relevant funding opportunities for NGOs across Africa in various sectors, such as education, healthcare, environment, and community development.
    • Collaborate with funding bodies, foundations, and international organizations to ensure the listing includes a comprehensive and up-to-date range of grants, fellowships, and financial support options.
    • Ensure all listed opportunities align with the needs of NGOs, including eligibility criteria, funding amounts, deadlines, and application processes.
    • Update the SayPro Fundsforngos Opportunities Listing on a monthly basis to reflect the latest available grants and funding opportunities.
  2. Maintain and Ensure Data Accuracy:
    • Review and verify all funding details, including eligibility, deadlines, application processes, and other essential information, to maintain a high level of accuracy and reliability.
    • Regularly audit the listing for outdated or expired opportunities and remove them promptly to ensure that NGOs only see active, open grants.
  3. Collaborate with Key Stakeholders:
    • Work closely with the SayPro marketing, technical, and editorial teams to ensure the listing is effectively presented on the SayPro platform and easy for NGOs to navigate.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with funding bodies, donors, and stakeholders to gather up-to-date funding information.
    • Communicate with NGOs to gather feedback on the usefulness and relevance of listed opportunities, and continuously improve the listing based on this feedback.
  4. Ensure User-Friendly Experience:
    • Contribute to the optimization of the SayPro platform’s interface for grant seekers, ensuring the opportunities listing is easy to navigate, intuitive, and provides users with valuable search filters and resources.
    • Assist in providing a clear and simple user journey for NGOs to access, review, and apply for funding opportunities.
  5. Create Supporting Content and Resources:
    • Develop and update application guidelines, FAQs, and tips for NGOs on how to successfully apply for grants.
    • Create additional resources or tools for NGOs to better navigate the grant application process, such as proposal writing guides or funding opportunity timelines.
  6. Monitor and Report Performance:
    • Track the performance of the Fundsforngos Opportunities Listing by analyzing engagement metrics such as user visits, clicks, and successful applications.
    • Provide monthly reports to the CMO on the success of the listing, trends in grant applications, and feedback received from NGOs and other stakeholders.
    • Use performance data to refine the listing, improve engagement, and ensure NGOs are applying for funding effectively.
  7. Stay Informed on Trends in Funding and NGOs:
    • Continuously stay informed about the latest trends in NGO funding, new donor programs, and emerging sectors that require support, ensuring the listing reflects evolving priorities.
    • Attend webinars, conferences, and workshops related to grant management and NGO funding to stay current on best practices and new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in grant management, funding research, or nonprofit program coordination.
    • Experience working within or with NGOs, especially in Africa, is highly preferred.
    • Strong understanding of the funding landscape, including foundations, government grants, corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, and international donor initiatives.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Research Skills: Ability to identify relevant and diverse funding opportunities from a wide range of sources.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing and presenting funding opportunities.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex funding opportunities to non-experts.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with using content management systems, databases, and web-based platforms to manage and update listings. Knowledge of basic website management tools and analytics is a plus.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and offer solutions to streamline the listing process or resolve any issues that arise.

    • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
