This document establishes the framework for the effective administration and management of internship programs within SayPro. It aims to ensure that interns receive structured, purposeful experience aligned with SayPro’s strategic human capital objectives.

- To attract, engage, and develop talented youth and early-career professionals.
- To provide structured internship programs that support learning and development.
- To ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with SayPro’s Human Capital (HC) principles.
- To comply with legal and educational standards related to internships.
- Scope
Applies to all:
- SayPro Royal Directors, Officers, and Chief Officers
- Intern applicants and current interns
- SayPro sites, offices, projects, and remote teams

5.1 SayPro Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO)
- Oversees program design, compliance, and intern development strategy.
5.2 SayPro Royal Directors
- Approve intern allocations and assign Officers to mentor interns.
5.3 SayPro Officers
- Supervise interns, assign tasks, monitor progress, and complete evaluations.
5.4 SayPro Internship Coordinator (designated HC Officer)
- Manages application processes, documentation, reporting, and communication with institutions.
- Procedures
6.1 Application & Recruitment
- Vacancies posted on SayPro website, noticeboards, and platforms.
- Applicants submit the SayPro Internship Application Form (SayProF264-01).
- Screening and interviews conducted by HC Officers and relevant Royal Directors.
- Offers issued via the Internship Appointment Letter (SayProF264-02).
6.2 Orientation & Onboarding
- Interns undergo structured induction using the Internship Induction Checklist (SayProF264-03).
- Intern agreement signed (SayProF264-04), outlining duties, learning outcomes, and conduct.
6.3 Supervision & Mentorship
- Officers assigned to each intern.
- Learning Objectives Template (SayProF264-05) to be completed at start.
- Monthly Performance Feedback (SayProF264-06) and attendance tracking.
6.4 Completion & Certification
- Final assessment and feedback by Officer and Royal Director.
- Exit Interview Form (SayProF264-07) and Completion Certificate (SayProF264-08) issued.
- Policies
- Interns are not guaranteed permanent employment.
- Interns must adhere to all SayPro Codes of Conduct and Confidentiality (SayProP108).
- Stipends (if applicable) must be disclosed and managed via HC and Finance.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Monthly intern reports submitted by Officers to Royal Directors and HC.
- Annual Internship Report compiled by CHCO and submitted to CEO and Board.
- Evaluation forms archived for a minimum of 3 years.

Q1: Are interns paid?
A1: Some interns receive stipends depending on funding or agreements with institutions.
Q2: Can an internship be extended?
A2: Extensions require written motivation by the Officer and Royal Director and approval by the CHCO.
Q3: What if an intern is underperforming?
A3: Officers must complete a performance warning form and consult HC before any termination.
Q4: Can interns apply for full-time positions?
A4: Yes. Interns must follow standard SayPro application procedures for vacancies.
