Objective:
To lay a strong foundation for the design and development of effective infographics by conducting thorough research and data gathering. The goal is to identify optimal formats and layouts that enhance visual communication and engagement for SayPro’s monthly publications.
Key Tasks:
- Audit of Past Infographics:
- Collect and review all past SayPro Monthly Infographics.
- Identify what worked and what didn’t based on engagement, feedback, and clarity.
- Evaluate the visual language, colors, structure, and icons used.
- Benchmarking Against Industry Standards:
- Research best practices in infographic design within the nonprofit, education, youth empowerment, and social development sectors.
- Identify at least 5 top-performing infographic styles used by other organizations or brands with similar goals to SayPro.
- Pay close attention to layout strategies, information density, color psychology, font choices, and storytelling methods.
- Content Analysis:
- Analyze the type of content typically featured in SayPro Monthly Reports (statistics, stories, KPIs, project outcomes, quotes, etc.).
- Determine which types of content are best communicated through visuals and which require textual emphasis.
- Categorize content into segments suitable for icons, charts, timelines, illustrations, and data maps.
- Target Audience Research:
- Define the demographics and psychographics of SayPro’s primary audience (e.g., partners, funders, youth participants, government stakeholders).
- Identify their preferences in terms of design aesthetics, readability, and information consumption habits.
- Use surveys or past feedback (if available) to shape design direction.
