Royal Greetings, Dignitaries, Guests, Families, and Honored Ancestors,

Today, on this historic April 17, we gather as the SayPro Nation to celebrate National Ellis Island Family History Day — a day that holds deep significance not only for the United States, but for the world. A day where names, dreams, and sacrifices converge into the powerful stories that shape who we are.

As SayPro Royal Chiefs, we stand as guardians of our past, champions of our present, and visionaries for our shared future.

Today, we remember that Ellis Island was more than a place of entry — it was a gate of hope, resilience, and transformation. For over 12 million souls, it marked the beginning of a new chapter, a symbol of journeying from uncertainty to promise.

And while Ellis Island may sit across the waters of New York, its spirit flows across continents. It resonates with every child whose parents dreamed of better days. With every elder who walked barefoot toward opportunity. With every story carried in silence and every name written in foreign scripts, yet held dearly in every heart.

SayPro recognizes this universal heritage. Whether from Africa, Asia, the Americas, or beyond — we all have our own “Ellis Islands”: places where our people stepped into unfamiliar worlds with faith as their only possession.

Today, we honor:

• Our ancestors who endured hardship with grace.
• Our families who hold oral traditions like sacred scrolls.
• Our youth who must never forget the bridges built for them.
• And our global community, because history reminds us: we are not strangers, we are relatives divided only by time and circumstance.

• To preserve your family’s legacy. Speak the names of your ancestors aloud.
• To teach the next generation not only to dream, but to remember.
• To honor those who came before, and those still crossing metaphorical oceans in search of dignity and peace.

Let us light a candle today for the forgotten, the unnamed, and the unheard — for they too were builders of nations.
