SayPro Capacity Building Training for NPOs Programme Project on 24 – 26 June 2025: Volunteer Recruitment Using Social Media

Johannesburg, South Africa – From 24 to 26 June 2025, the SayPro Capacity Building Training for NPOs Programme will convene nonprofit professionals from across the country for a dynamic three-day workshop titled “Volunteer Recruitment Using Social Media.” Hosted by SayPro , the training will equip Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) with essential tools and strategies to harness the power of social media for attracting, engaging, and retaining volunteers.

In an increasingly digital world, many NPOs struggle to adapt to the evolving online landscape. SayPro’s training seeks to close this gap by providing practical, hands-on knowledge that can lead to tangible outcomes in community engagement and volunteer mobilisation.

Training Highlights

The programme will cover:

  • Strategic Social Media Planning: How to identify the right platforms for your organisation and tailor your messaging for each.
  • Content Creation for Volunteer Appeal: Best practices for crafting compelling stories, visuals, and calls to action.
  • Targeted Outreach and Campaigns: Leveraging tools like Facebook Ads, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn posts, and TikTok videos to reach potential volunteers.
  • Analytics and Evaluation: How to measure success, monitor engagement, and refine social media strategies.
  • Case Studies and Peer Learning: Real-world examples from successful NPOs and interactive group discussions.

Building Capacity, Driving Impact

The workshop is part of SayPro’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the operational and strategic capabilities of grassroots organisations. By the end of the training, NPO representatives will have developed tailored social media action plans for volunteer recruitment specific to their mission and audience.

SayPro CEO, Thabo Moloi, emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the nonprofit sector:

“Volunteers are the backbone of many organisations. In the age of social media, learning how to effectively reach and inspire them online is no longer optional—it’s essential.”

Who Attended

Over 40 participants representing a diverse range of community-based organisations, youth-led initiatives, and regional advocacy groups are expected to attend the training. Participants will also receive post-training mentorship and access to SayPro’s online resource hub for ongoing support.

Looking Ahead

This training is just one of several capacity-building efforts SayPro has planned for 2025, as part of its mission to support sustainable development and social innovation across Africa.
