Job Overview:

Employees working on SayPro Monthly Material will play a crucial role in ensuring the selection, procurement, and timely delivery of high-quality, durable materials that meet both SayProโ€™s brand perception and sustainability goals. This role focuses on collaborating with vendors and managing the sourcing of materials that align with SayProโ€™s objectives in product protection, brand enhancement, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaboration with Vendors:
    • Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between SayPro and external vendors, including suppliers and manufacturers, to source materials for monthly product requirements.
    • Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring open communication channels for order updates, negotiations, and feedback.
    • Negotiation: Work with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality materials, and favorable terms to optimize cost-efficiency while maintaining the brand’s high standards.
  2. Material Sourcing and Procurement:
    • Timely Sourcing: Ensure that all required materials are sourced in a timely manner, meeting SayProโ€™s deadlines and ensuring continuous production flow.
    • Quality Assurance: Assess materials for quality, durability, and suitability for use in SayProโ€™s products. Ensure that all materials comply with SayProโ€™s quality control standards.
    • Sustainability Standards: Prioritize sustainable material choices and eco-friendly production methods, in line with SayProโ€™s environmental goals. Identify new suppliers that offer sustainable and eco-conscious materials.
  3. Quality & Brand Perception Enhancement:
    • Material Selection: Choose materials that not only protect SayPro products but also elevate the brandโ€™s image and reputation. Select durable and premium materials that reflect SayProโ€™s commitment to quality.
    • Consistency with Brand Values: Ensure the selected materials align with SayProโ€™s brand identity, reinforcing the perception of quality and luxury in every product.
    • Packaging Design Coordination: Collaborate with the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR and Brand Material Office to ensure the material selection complements the overall product design and packaging strategy.
  4. Product Protection:
    • Durability Consideration: Select materials that enhance the productโ€™s durability and offer long-lasting protection during transit and storage, minimizing potential damage.
    • Innovation & Improvement: Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in material science that could provide innovative ways to improve product protection.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Material Tracking: Maintain accurate records of material orders, costs, and timelines, ensuring all procurement processes are documented and traceable.
    • Monthly Reports: Prepare detailed monthly reports on material sourcing, vendor performance, and any challenges encountered, submitting them to the Marketing Manager and Brand Material Supervisor.
    • Sustainability Reporting: Track and report on sustainability efforts related to material procurement, helping SayPro meet its sustainability goals.
  6. Cross-Department Collaboration:
    • Marketing & Design Coordination: Work closely with the SayPro Marketing Team and Product Designers to understand material requirements, product aesthetics, and packaging needs.
    • Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure the smooth transportation and delivery of materials to meet production schedules.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in materials sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the consumer goods or manufacturing sector.
  • Education: A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
    • Knowledge of sustainable material sourcing and environmental practices.
    • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and material management software.
