SayPro Shop General Setting

The WooCommerce General Settings control your store’s core configurations — such as your store address, currency, and tax settings. These are foundational for how your WooCommerce store operates.


⚙️ How to Access General Settings

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings.
  3. You’ll land on the General tab by default.

🏬 Store Address

Used for:

  • Tax calculations
  • Shipping origins
  • Default customer location

Fields:

🌍 General Options

  • Selling Location(s):
    • Choose where you sell:
      • Yes – Sell to all countries
      • Sell to specific countries only
      • Sell to all countries except…
  • Shipping Location(s):
    • Choose where you ship:
      • Yes – Ship to all countries you sell to
      • Ship to specific countries
      • Disable shipping & shipping calculations (for digital products)
  • Default Customer Location:
    • Determines what location is assumed for taxes and shipping before the customer provides their actual location.
      • No location (no tax until address entered)
      • Shop base address (most common)
      • Yes – Geolocate or Geolocate with page caching support
  • Enable Taxes:
    • ✅ Check this to enable tax calculations.
    • Once enabled, a Tax tab appears in WooCommerce settings.
  • Enable Coupons:
    • ✅ Allow the use of coupon codes during checkout.
    • Optional: Enable applying coupons individually or restrict combinations.

💱 Currency Options

Controls how prices are displayed and calculated:

  • Currency: Choose your store’s base currency (e.g., USD, ZAR, EUR, GBP). Rand
  • Currency Position: Left, Right, with/without space (e.g., $100 or 100€)
  • Thousand Separator: e.g., ,
  • Decimal Separator: e.g., .
  • Number of Decimals: Usually 2 (for cents/pennies)
