Tax Liens and Levies
Assess Tax Lien or Levy Notices: Review notices from tax authorities regarding tax liens or levies to understand the nature and implications
Evaluate Client’s Tax Situation: Analyse the client’s tax liability and financial status to develop a strategy for addressing liens or levies
Prepare Lien or Levy Responses: Draft and submit formal responses to tax authorities to address or contest tax liens or levies
Negotiate Lien Releases: Work with tax authorities to negotiate the release or reduction of tax liens
Manage Asset Seizures: Assist clients in managing or preventing asset seizures due to tax levies
Communicate with Tax Authorities: Act as an intermediary between clients and tax authorities to resolve issues related to liens or levies
Provide Lien and Levy Documentation: Prepare and organize documentation required for lien or levy negotiations and resolutions
Develop Lien Resolution Strategies: Create strategies for resolving tax liens and levies, including payment plans or appeals
Advise on Preventive Measures: Offer advice on actions to prevent future tax liens or levies
Track Resolution Progress: Monitor the progress of lien or levy resolutions and update clients on developments
Instalment Agreements
Evaluate Payment Capabilities: Assess the client’s financial situation to determine the feasibility of an instalment agreement
Prepare Instalment Agreement Proposals: Develop and submit proposals for instalment agreements to tax authorities, detailing payment terms and amounts
Negotiate Instalment Terms: Negotiate terms of instalment agreements with tax authorities to achieve favourable conditions for clients
Review and Sign Instalment Agreements: Ensure that clients understand and agree to the terms of instalment agreements before signing
Monitor Payment Compliance: Track and ensure timely payments under the instalment agreement
Address Payment Issues: Resolve issues or disputes related to instalment payments, including missed or late payments
Update Instalment Agreement Terms: Modify instalment agreements if there are changes in the client’s financial situation or tax liability
Provide Guidance on Financial Planning: Offer advice on financial planning to help clients meet instalment agreement obligations
Communicate with Tax Authorities: Serve as a liaison with tax authorities to address any concerns or adjustments related to instalment agreements
Document Instalment Agreement Details: Maintain detailed records of instalment agreements and payment history
Offer in Compromise
Assess Eligibility for Offer in Compromise: Evaluate the client’s financial situation and tax liability to determine eligibility for an offer in compromise
Prepare Offer in Compromise Applications: Complete and submit applications for offers in compromise, including supporting documentation and financial statements
Negotiate Settlement Terms: Work with tax authorities to negotiate terms and conditions of an offer in compromise
Develop Compromise Strategies: Create strategies to maximize the likelihood of acceptance for offers in compromise
Address Rejections or Counteroffers: Respond to rejections or counteroffers from tax authorities with revised proposals or additional information
