On a recent occasion, SayPro’s Chief Marketing Officer, Puluko Nkiwane, attended a pivotal meeting at the Sports Hub (Basa Primary) to discuss the SayPro Governance for NPOs Programme 3-Day Capacity Building initiative. The event, organized by Mr. Ramolesana, brought together a number of Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) based in the Diepsloot area.

Key Attendees:

The meeting was attended by a variety of stakeholders, including prominent figures within the NPO sector. Among the key attendees were Moses Mnisi and Ms. R. Netshoizwe, both of whom play integral roles in the development and support of NPOs in the area. Several representatives from local NPOs were also present, including those from the following organizations:

  • Diepsloot Arsenal Development
  • Greater Diepsloot Sports Forum (Not Active)
  • Region A Sports Forum (Not Active)
  • DYA
  • Diepsloot Malmo
  • Diepsloot Sporting
  • Cafe Foundation NPC
  • Greater Diepsloot Sports Forum
  • Region A Sports Forum

Focus of the Meeting:

The core purpose of the meeting was to introduce the 3-Day Capacity Building training, which aims to help participating NPOs enhance their governance, management practices, and overall operational effectiveness. Mr. Nkiwane, representing SayPro, took the opportunity to explain the benefits of the initiative, stressing that the training would empower NPOs to better serve their communities by improving their internal structures and practices.

Training Requirements and Learner Agreement:

During the meeting, Mr. Nkiwane highlighted the importance of the Learner Agreement, which must be signed by all NPO representatives wishing to participate in the training. In addition to signing the agreement, participants are required to submit a certified copy of their identification and any relevant qualifications. This ensures that all participants are properly registered and meet the necessary criteria for the program.

Can Non-Registered NPOs Attend the Training?

A common question raised by attendees was whether individuals in the process of registering their NPOs could attend the training. Mr. Nkiwane confirmed that while the training is primarily intended for established NPOs, individuals in the process of registering their own NPOs may still be considered for participation. However, they must provide evidence of their registration progress and meet the other program requirements.

Signed Learner Agreements:

Following the meeting, several NPOs signed the Learner Agreement, confirming their commitment to participate in the 3-Day Capacity Building training. The NPOs that have completed this step include:

  • Diepsloot Sporting
  • Diepsloot Malmo
  • Diepsloot Arsenal Development
  • Riverside Parma
  • Diepsloot Celtic

Conclusion:

The SayPro Governance for NPOs Programme 3-Day Capacity Building initiative represents a significant opportunity for local organizations to strengthen their governance and management practices. With the collaboration of SayPro and the commitment of participating NPOs, this program will help enhance the effectiveness of these organizations and, in turn, empower them to create a more substantial impact on the communities they serve.

The support and engagement seen during the meeting demonstrate a collective drive towards improving the operational capacity of NPOs in the Diepsloot area, ensuring that they are better equipped to navigate the challenges they face and improve the quality of life for their beneficiaries.

My message shall end here
