Speech: SayPro – CKG Bishop Saki at the Stop School Violence Meeting, Delft South Library, 11 October 2025

Introduction:

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, respected colleagues, community leaders, parents, educators, and most importantly, the young minds that will carry our future forward. It’s truly an honor to stand before you today at this important gathering. I am CKG Bishop Saki, and I represent SayPro – CKG—an organization dedicated to ending violence in our schools and building a safer environment for our children.

I stand here with a heavy heart, but also with hope—hope that we can break the cycle of violence, bullying, and fear that has plagued many of our schools. SayPro – CKG and you have gathered today to make a collective stand. SayPro – CKG’s mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. This is not just a dream; it is a necessity for the future of our communities and our nation.

The State of School Violence:

As we all know, the issue of school violence is far-reaching. It’s not just physical bullying or fighting. It’s verbal abuse, psychological trauma, and the deep emotional scars that linger long after the bell rings. Our children face dangers that go beyond the classroom walls. Violence can happen anywhere—whether it’s on the way to school, in the school yard, or even in their very homes. It’s a pervasive issue that we cannot afford to ignore.

Statistics show a staggering increase in school violence in recent years, with cases of bullying, assault, and emotional abuse becoming disturbingly common. But even more alarming is the silence that often surrounds these incidents. Students are afraid to speak out, either because they fear retaliation or because they believe their voices will be unheard. It is this silence that feeds the violence.

But today, we say enough is enough.

The Role of SayPro – CKG:

At SayPro – CKG, we are committed to ending the culture of violence in schools. SayPro – CKG is a grassroots organization built for people in need—dedicated individuals who believe in the power of education, community, and positive influence. SayPro – CKG work alongside schools, parents, local governments, and most importantly, our students, to foster a culture of respect, empathy, and kindness.

SayPro – CKG believes in proactive intervention—engaging with young people before problems escalate. Through a range of programs, SayPro – CKG teaches conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and non-violent communication. SayPro – CKG programs include:

  • SayPro – CKG Daily Meals: We have noted that many children comes to school hungry and SayPro – CKG provide meals after school daily.
  • SayPro – CKG Peer Mentorship: Older students mentoring younger ones, helping them navigate their school life with support and guidance.
  • SayPro – CKG Conflict Resolution Workshops: Teaching students the tools they need to resolve disagreements without resorting to violence.
  • SayPro – CKG Emotional Intelligence Development: Helping students identify, understand, and manage their emotions in healthy ways.
  • SayPro – CKG Anti-Bullying Campaigns: Raising awareness and challenging the norms that allow bullying to thrive.

Our Collective Responsibility:

Ending school violence is not just the job of one organization or one group of people—it’s a collective responsibility. Teachers, parents, community leaders, and young people themselves must work together to create safe spaces for our children. We cannot expect change to come from one source alone. The entire community must be involved.

That is why I urge all of you here today to not just listen to the words we speak, but to actively participate in this fight. If you are a teacher, take it upon yourself to create an open dialogue with your students, make them feel heard, and ensure they understand the importance of respect and kindness. If you are a parent, be vigilant—teach your children about the consequences of violence and the power of empathy. If you are a student, you hold incredible power. Be a voice for those who cannot speak, be a force for good in your school, and stand against violence in all its forms.

Call to Action:

Let us not wait until the problem is too large to solve. The time to act is now. We must take the first step together, as one community, and show our children that they deserve a future free from fear. The future they deserve is one where education is a tool for empowerment, not for trauma.

I invite each of you here today to consider how you can contribute to this mission. Whether through becoming a SayPro – CKG volunteer, participating in our programs, or simply supporting the cause, every effort counts. Together, we can foster a generation that values peace, understanding, and the well-being of others.

Closing:

In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for being here today, and for taking part in this crucial conversation. The road ahead will not be easy, but I am confident that with your commitment, we can make a lasting change.

Thank you, and let us continue to work hand-in-hand to stop school violence and build a brighter future for our children.

Remarks to the audience:

Let us remember, this is just the beginning. Let’s keep the conversation going and take action. Join us at SayPro – CKG and help us create schools where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
