Job Title: Icon Quality Assurance Specialist
Reports To: SayPro Brand Material Office Manager / SayPro Marketing Lead
Job Summary
The Icon Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of all custom icon designs to ensure alignment with SayPro’s brand identity, visual standards, and quality benchmarks. This role plays a vital part in maintaining design integrity, usability, and consistency across all digital and print platforms where icons are used.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
1. Review and Evaluation of Icon Designs
- Conduct Detailed Icon Reviews
Examine each icon submission individually, assessing for:- Brand consistency (adherence to SayPro’s visual identity)
- Design precision (proportions, alignment, padding)
- Color accuracy (use of approved color palette and contrast compliance)
- Clarity and scalability (icons must be legible at small and large sizes)
- Style uniformity across icon sets
- Cross-Reference with Brand Style Guide
Evaluate each icon against SayPro’s comprehensive Visual Style Guide, ensuring:- Correct stroke weight and icon spacing
- Use of consistent visual metaphors and thematic representation
- Harmonious typography where applicable
- Compliance with any platform-specific (iOS, Android, Web) requirements
2. Documentation of QA Findings
- Maintain an Icon Review Log
For every icon or icon set reviewed:- Document the designer, date of submission, and icon name
- Record any discrepancies, quality issues, or required changes
- Mark icons as Approved, Pending Revisions, or Rejected with Comments
- Provide Constructive Feedback
Draft clear, actionable feedback for designers on how to resolve issues, such as:- “Icon outline is too thin for small screen readability.”
- “Color used does not match SayPro secondary palette #F48B29.”
- “Visual metaphor used is inconsistent with similar service icons.”
3. Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with Design and Brand Teams
- Participate in scheduled design review meetings
- Align feedback with evolving brand strategy and tone
- Raise recurring design inconsistencies or improvement suggestions with the Brand Material Office
- Assist in Designer Education
- Share insights from QA findings to prevent repeated errors
- Help junior designers better understand QA standards
- Contribute to the development of internal design QA best practices
4. Final Approval and Distribution Readiness
- Approve Icons for Use
- Ensure icons meet all design and quality requirements before deployment
- Tag icons as “Final” and ready for use in SayPro’s central asset library
- Prepare Icons for Multi-Platform Use
- Check final export settings: correct file formats (SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF), sizes, and transparency
- Verify visual integrity across multiple background colors and digital interfaces
- Confirm file naming conventions for easy search and reuse
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Strong background in graphic design or digital visual QA
- High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or similar design software
- In-depth understanding of iconography and vector graphics
- Familiarity with SayPro’s brand guidelines or ability to quickly internalize brand frameworks
- Meticulous attention to detail and visual consistency
- Ability to clearly articulate visual feedback to creative teams
Preferred:
- Experience in brand compliance or visual QA within a corporate or marketing context
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards as they relate to icon use
- Background in UI/UX design testing or user-centered design evaluation

- Percentage of icon submissions approved without revisions
