Position Overview: Employees working on SayPro Monthly Material will play a key role in sourcing, researching, and selecting high-quality materials that align with SayPro’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and brand perception. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure that materials used in packaging, product components, and promotional materials meet both the functional requirements and environmental standards expected by SayPro.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Material Research and Selection:
    • Conduct thorough research to identify potential materials that meet SayPro’s high standards for durability, quality, and environmental responsibility.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to explore innovative material options, ensuring that materials contribute positively to the product’s protection and overall aesthetic.
    • Evaluate material specifications to ensure compliance with SayPro’s sustainability goals and eco-friendly guidelines, considering factors like recyclability, biodegradability, and overall environmental impact.
  2. Packaging Materials:
    • Select packaging materials that protect products during transit and storage, minimizing damage and reducing the need for additional protective layers.
    • Ensure that packaging choices also enhance the brand perception by reflecting SayPro’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
    • Research and suggest materials that optimize space efficiency, reduce weight, and meet logistical cost requirements.
  3. Product Component Materials:
    • Choose materials for product components that align with SayPro’s functional and aesthetic requirements, ensuring that they are durable, high-quality, and able to withstand regular use.
    • Consider the usability and life cycle of product components, ensuring that the materials used support the product’s longevity and performance.
  4. Promotional Materials:
    • Identify and propose suitable materials for promotional items such as brochures, banners, and branded giveaways, ensuring that they reflect SayPro’s brand values and contribute to positive brand recognition.
    • Select environmentally responsible materials for promotional materials, balancing quality with sustainability.
  5. Quality Control and Standards Compliance:
    • Work closely with the SayPro Brand Material Office under the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR (Supply Chain Management and Resources) to ensure that all selected materials meet SayPro’s rigorous quality control standards.
    • Conduct regular assessments of material suppliers to verify compliance with SayPro’s specifications and ensure that materials meet safety, performance, and sustainability standards.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Coordinate with various departments such as Marketing, Product Development, and Supply Chain to ensure that selected materials align with the broader strategic goals of SayPro.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on the status of material selection, research findings, and supplier performance to the SayPro Brand Material Office.
    • Participate in meetings with suppliers and partners to negotiate costs, quality, and supply agreements that align with SayPro’s budget and material requirements.
  7. Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Actively participate in SayPro’s sustainability initiatives, recommending eco-friendly materials and practices that align with SayPro’s environmental goals.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in sustainable materials, helping SayPro stay ahead of industry standards.
  8. Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain detailed records of material selections, supplier evaluations, and product testing results for future reference.
    • Ensure proper documentation of material specifications and environmental certifications to guarantee compliance with SayPro’s standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in material selection, packaging design, and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable practices and eco-friendly materials.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and industry standards.
  • Excellent research, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular office hours.
  • Collaboration with the SayPro Brand Material Office and other departments, as needed.
  • Occasional travel to supplier locations or industry events may be required.
