Impact Assessment
At the conclusion of the program monitoring cycle, SayPro will conduct a comprehensive impact assessment to evaluate the extent to which the intervention has met its intended objectives and responded to the needs of the target communities.
Purpose of the Impact Assessment
The primary objectives of the impact assessment are to:
- Measure the effectiveness of the program in achieving desired outcomes.
- Understand the changes experienced by beneficiaries, including economic, social, and behavioral shifts.
- Evaluate the program’s relevance, efficiency, sustainability, and scalability.
- Capture unintended outcomes (both positive and negative) to strengthen future programming.
Methodology
SayPro will employ a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative data collection, such as:
- Surveys and baseline/endline comparisons with beneficiaries and community members.
- Focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders.
- Case studies to illustrate personal and community-level transformations.
- Secondary data analysis to triangulate findings and enhance validity.
Where feasible, SayPro will also utilize quasi-experimental methods (e.g. control groups or comparison areas) to assess attribution and contribution to observed changes.
Use of Findings
The results of the impact assessment will be:
- Shared with stakeholders through a final impact report and dissemination workshops.
- Used to inform strategic decision-making, program scaling, or redesign.
- Incorporated into organizational learning to improve future project design and delivery.
By investing in rigorous impact assessment, SayPro ensures that its programs are not only accountable but also truly responsive to the lived realities and aspirations of the communities it serves.
