  5. Assessment Period: The time period during which the assessment is conducted (e.g., Q1 2025).
  6. Communication Skills: Evaluates the student’s ability to convey ideas effectively, both in writing and speaking.
    • Rating Scale: 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent)
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: Assesses how well the student can analyze situations, think critically, and develop solutions.
    • Rating Scale: 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent)
  8. Teamwork & Collaboration: Measures the student’s ability to work effectively with others, contribute to group goals, and engage in collaborative efforts.

Rating Scale:

Each skill is rated on a scale from 1 to 5:

  • 1 (Poor): Significant improvement needed, student struggles with this skill.
  • 2 (Fair): Below expectations, needs substantial work.
  • 3 (Good): Meets expectations but with room for growth.
  • 4 (Very Good): Exceeds expectations, performs well in this area.
  • 5 (Excellent): Outstanding, demonstrates mastery in this skill.

How to Use This Template:

  1. Assess Individual Skills: Instructors should evaluate each student in the specified soft skills based on their performance, classroom participation, assignments, and projects.
  2. Provide Ratings: Using the 1-5 scale, instructors can assign a rating to each of the key soft skills. If a skill is not applicable, a “N/A” can be used.
  3. Offer Feedback: Based on the ratings, instructors should provide constructive feedback in the “Feedback & Recommendations” column. This helps students understand their strengths and areas where they need improvement.
  4. Track Progress: This template can be used across multiple periods (e.g., quarterly) to track the progress of students in developing their soft skills.
  5. Monitor Trends: By recording this data over time, you can identify trends in individual skill development and make adjustments to instructional strategies as needed.
