Quality Control Checklist for Prints
Document Title: SayPro Quality Control Checklist
Brand Material Office under SayPro Marketing Royalty
Purpose:
This checklist serves as a guide to ensure all printed materials meet the highest quality standards as set by SayPro Marketing. The goal is to maintain visual clarity, color accuracy, resolution, and texture consistency for all print outputs to align with SayPro’s brand standards.
1. Color Accuracy
- [ ] Color Consistency:
- Ensure the colors in the printed material match the official brand color palette. Compare printed material with digital proofs and Pantone color references.
- Check for any color shifts in different print batches.
- Inspect color transitions (e.g., gradients) for smoothness and accuracy.
- [ ] Color Density:
- Ensure no color over-saturation or under-saturation. Printed material should not have areas that are too dark or too light.
- Verify that all text and images are legible without color bleed.
- [ ] Spot Color Matching:
- Verify spot colors, especially those used in logos or specific branding elements, match the digital proofs and Pantone standards.
- Ensure no unintended color variations in logos or graphic elements.
2. Resolution
- [ ] Image Sharpness:
- Verify that all images are clear and sharp. Look for any blurring, pixelation, or artifacts in photos and graphics.
- Ensure image resolution meets the required DPI (dots per inch) for the chosen print medium:
- Minimum 300 DPI for standard printing.
- Ensure vector images are used where applicable for scalability without loss of quality.
- [ ] Print Detail:
- Examine fine print details (e.g., text, line art, small logos) for clarity. Ensure there is no loss of detail in smaller elements.
- Ensure text remains crisp without any distortion or aliasing.
- [ ] Enlargements:
- Check that images or graphics that have been resized for larger prints maintain their quality (no pixelation or degradation).
3. Paper Texture and Quality
- [ ] Paper Type:
- Verify the paper chosen matches the specifications in the brand guidelines (e.g., matte, glossy, coated, uncoated).
- Ensure the paper’s weight and texture align with the intended purpose (e.g., high-quality presentation, durable brochures, etc.).
- [ ] Surface Texture:
- Inspect the print’s surface for any roughness, warping, or noticeable imperfections that could detract from the final presentation.
- Ensure no fingerprint marks or streaks are visible on the surface after handling.
- [ ] Paper Absorption:
- Test how the ink is absorbed by the paper. Check for any blotting, bleeding, or excessive absorption that may impact text or image clarity.
- [ ] Finish and Gloss:
- Ensure the paper finish is consistent across all materials. If glossy, check for even sheen. If matte, ensure there’s no excessive shine in unwanted areas.
- Ensure the paper finish aligns with the specific product requirements (e.g., a glossy brochure vs. a matte flyer).
4. Print Alignment and Borders
- [ ] Margin Consistency:
- Check margins on all four sides of the print for uniformity. Ensure that all elements, especially text and images, are aligned properly without cutting off parts.
- [ ] Border and Bleed:
- Verify that the bleed area is adequate and that no important design elements are placed too close to the edges.
- Inspect printed materials to ensure there’s no cropping or edge distortion.
5. Print Quality on Different Materials
- [ ] Multi-Material Consistency:
- If printing on varied materials (e.g., canvas, fabric, or specialty paper), verify that color accuracy, resolution, and texture are maintained across materials.
- Ensure that the ink adheres properly to each material without issues such as smudging or uneven coverage.
- [ ] Durability and Wear Resistance:
- Assess the durability of printed materials, especially for products that will undergo handling (e.g., flyers, brochures). The print should not wear off easily or be prone to fading under normal conditions.
6. Final Product Evaluation
- [ ] Overall Visual Appeal:
- Ensure the print job meets SayPro’s standards for clarity, vibrancy, and consistency. Review the overall design to make sure it adheres to the intended brand aesthetics.
- [ ] Test Samples:
- Before large-scale printing, ensure test prints are evaluated thoroughly for all the above points. Check test samples for color, clarity, and texture before full production.
- [ ] Packaging and Delivery:
- Ensure the printed materials are packaged carefully to avoid any damage during transit. Check that packaging maintains the integrity of the printed product.
7. Additional Notes
- [ ] Comments and Adjustments:
- If any of the above criteria are not met, note down specific issues and adjustments that need to be made.
- Ensure that all corrections are addressed and implemented before proceeding with further production.
