In line with our new Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems, we are committed to building the skills and capacity of our teams to ensure that data collection, analysis, and reporting are done efficiently and effectively across all projects.

🏗️ Why Strengthening Data Capacity Matters

Data is essential to understanding the progress and impact of our projects. Without a strong foundation in data collection, analysis, and reporting, we risk making decisions based on incomplete or inaccurate information. By strengthening our capacity in these areas, we can:

🛠️ Key Areas of Focus for Capacity Building

1. Data Collection

Effective data collection is critical to obtaining reliable, consistent, and actionable insights. Training will focus on:

• Developing clear indicators and tools to capture the right data
• Ensuring accuracy and consistency in field data collection
• Training on digital tools for data collection (e.g., mobile apps, surveys, etc.)

2. Data Analysis

Analyzing data transforms raw numbers into meaningful insights that guide decision-making. Training in this area will cover:

• Using statistical tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
• Identifying trends and interpreting data to assess performance
• Drawing actionable conclusions from data

3. Data Reporting

Clear and effective reporting ensures that our stakeholders understand the results of our efforts. Training will focus on:

• Writing clear and concise reports
• Visualizing data using charts, graphs, and dashboards
• Tailoring reports for different audiences (donors, internal teams, etc.)
• Using our new M&E system for automated reporting and visualization

To ensure SayPro staff and partners are equipped with the necessary skills, the Monitoring Office will offer comprehensive training on data collection, analysis, and reporting. These sessions will be hands-on and role-specific.

• Who Should Attend: All SayPro staff, M&E officers, data collectors, and project managers
• Format: Hybrid (in-person and virtual options available)
