Position Overview:
As a Sustainability Implementation Specialist working on SayPro Monthly Material, you will be responsible for tracking, reporting, and implementing sustainability initiatives to ensure the environmental impact of materials selected for SayPro Monthly (starting with January SCMR-13). Your primary role is to select durable materials that not only protect products but also enhance SayPro’s brand perception and align with environmental goals. The position requires a strong understanding of sustainable practices in material selection and a commitment to supporting SayPro’s overall sustainability and brand strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and Report Environmental Impact:
- Collect and analyze data on the environmental impact of materials used in SayPro Monthly materials, with a focus on the January SCMR-13.
- Develop and maintain a reporting system to monitor sustainability metrics, such as carbon footprint, waste reduction, and energy consumption associated with material selection.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information related to materials’ life cycle assessments and environmental performance.
- Material Selection and Evaluation:
- Work with the SayPro Brand Material Office and marketing teams to select materials that support SayPro’s commitment to sustainability.
- Ensure that materials chosen for SayPro Monthly are durable, resource-efficient, and have minimal environmental impact.
- Evaluate materials for recyclability, biodegradability, and eco-friendly production processes, balancing performance and sustainability goals.
- Enhance Brand Perception:
- Contribute to SayPro’s brand strategy by selecting materials that align with the company’s sustainability goals, thereby enhancing the public image of the SayPro brand.
- Ensure that the sustainability efforts align with SayPro’s reputation as an environmentally conscious company, and communicate this message to customers, stakeholders, and partners.
- Collaboration with SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR:
- Work closely with the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR team to ensure that sustainability strategies and material selections are aligned with brand objectives and market positioning.
- Assist in integrating sustainability messaging into SayPro Monthly materials, demonstrating SayPro’s commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in sustainable materials and production processes.
- Recommend new materials and sustainable practices to improve SayPro’s environmental performance and product offerings.
- Contribute to the development of sustainability goals and KPIs for future monthly materials.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure all materials selected for SayPro Monthly comply with industry standards, sustainability certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare sustainability reports and presentations for internal review and external communication.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Educate and train internal teams on the importance of sustainability in material selection and product development.
- Build relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure that sustainability requirements are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability implementation, materials selection, or environmental impact assessment, preferably within a marketing or product development environment.
- Experience with life cycle analysis (LCA), sustainable materials, and environmental certification standards (e.g., ISO, Cradle to Cradle, or similar).
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with sustainability metrics and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and eco-friendly production practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
