It undermines public trust in the very institutions built to protect and serve us. And while the crime may occur in quiet, shadowed transactions, the consequences echo loudly in the lives of millions.

The Royal Committee stands firm: Fraud will not be tolerated.

SayPro National Report Medicare Fraud Day is established not to cast blame, but to ignite action. It reminds us all — whether government officials, healthcare professionals, insurers, patients, or ordinary citizens — that we each hold a piece of responsibility. We are all guardians of transparency.

We must report suspicious billing, false claims, and deceitful practices.
We must protect the resources meant for healing, not for profit.

Today, we also honor the many whistleblowers and advocates who have bravely exposed fraud despite personal risk. Their courage has saved billions of rands, restored care to those in need, and upheld the sacred values of honesty and accountability.

Let today be a day of education, of empowerment, and of renewed commitment:

• Educate our communities on how to recognize Medicare fraud.
• Empower our citizens with the knowledge of reporting mechanisms.
• Strengthen partnerships between government, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and civil society to ensure every fraudulent act is met with swift justice.

As the Royal Committee, we call upon every citizen: If you see something, say something.

Together, we will preserve the integrity of our healthcare systems.
Together, we will protect the vulnerable.
Together, we will ensure that Medicare serves its true purpose — providing care, dignity, and hope.
